Live Sound
Adam Iredale-Gray has run stages and been a staff sound person for festivals including NimbleFingers, Big Branch, AlgomaTrad, ArtsWells, FolkWest, and Chris Langan Weekend, and was the production manager for the Campbell Bay Music Festival.
Adam has worked as a touring sound tech for Shooglenifty (SCT), The Fretless (CA/US), and Vinta (CA).
In addition to full tours, he is regularly engaged by artists to provide sound for concerts, festivals, and special performances, including work with Jo Passed (BC), Tara Kannangara (ON), Corey Gulkin (QC), Ellorie McKnight (YT), Omhouse (ON), Medusa Quartet (ON), and Tullstars (ON).
Adam’s work is artist-driven rather than venue-assigned: hired directly by bands to ensure consistency and clarity of musical intent across performances, while working in collaboration with local production teams and house systems.
As a professional touring fiddler and guitarist, Adam has the kind of experience that helps him understand the artist’s onstage experience deeply - particularly the special challenges of amplifying acoustic instruments. Spending many years on tour as an artist and a tour manager gives him the framework to anticipate an artist’s needs, and to meet them with a thoughtful, detail-oriented approach. Adam takes system tuning very seriously, and takes time and care to make sure the whole system is set up and adjusted before artists get onstage for a sound check, solving many problems before the artists hear a note.
Adam also offers workshops on live sound reinforcement for musicians, and helps bands design powerful, efficient, and affordable touring rigs to meet their live sound needs where they’re at.
